Lord, Make Us Willing

Matthew 9:37-38
Then saith He unto His disciples, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
When I was in high school, I thought about becoming a missionary.  I even spent a couple of months in Africa at two missionary hospitals.  But my path seemed to be in a different direction.  When one of my children expressed an interest in missions, I had to do a lot of praying and pondering to get to a place of peace.  The world seems like such a dangerous place, but the safest place to be is in the center of God’s will.
“The man of God in the will of God is immortal until he has finished the work God has given to do.” David Jeremiah

Lord, Make Us Willing

Lord, make us willing to send forth the light,
To spread the good news all over the world,
To be a beacon to those that are lost,
To proclaim Your name to a lost and dying world.

The fields are ripe unto the harvest,
But the laborers are counted but few.
The harvest truly is so plenteous.
Who will go forth to reap, who will go, will you?

Parents, are you willing to let them go,
Your dear children to dangers yet unknown?
Youth, are you willing to go far and wide,
The gospel spread to help Jesus claim them for His own?

Therefore, we pray unto You, dear Lord,
Unto You, Lord of the harvest.
That You would send forth many willing souls,
Who would gladly give all, and in the lost invest.

How beautiful are the feet of them,
That preach the good news of glad tidings,
That all may hear and believe in Your name.
To tell to all of You, Lord, make us so willing.
